  • Julie Tao – Founder

    Julie TaoJulie set up Bite Buddies to encourage younger and older people to work more closely together, to gain skills in a fun and creative way. With her love of overeating and digital technologies, it’s no surprise that the workshops focus on food and tech.

    Julie volunteers every week as a ‘Befriender’ with Age UK, which means visiting and supporting an elderly couple. She also provides Age UK with marketing support.

    Julie’s background is in digital marketing, with over ten years’ experience across a variety of sectors, from market research to medical, in the UK and Vietnam. When she’s not working, she’s a budding seamstress and proficient scone eater, with constant wanderlust.

  • Jan M. S. – Secretary

    Jan_210_310Jan is a former SENCO, with over 27 years’ experience teaching children, her specialism being in supporting children with special needs. Jan is passionate about encouraging children to develop their skills, in a comfortable and encouraging environment. Jan uses her natural ability to listen attentively to any problems or difficulties children are experiencing, to identify ways to overcome any hurdles. Jan’s positive, fun and insightful manner means she is instantly liked by children and adults alike.

    Not only is Jan a teacher of academic subjects, but in matters of nature too, being a keen bird watcher and wildflower grower. She often has her binoculars on standby to identify the variety of different bird species which frequent her gardens.

  • Craig Macdonald – Video Editor

    Craig_210_310Craig is a professional videographer, musician and jack of many creative trades. He has created videos for TV commercials, government tourism and culture projects to highlights from a charity marathon.

    Craig is a local Croydon guy, who is often seen walking his two dogs around South Norwood Country Park, or testing selfie sticks in the town centre.

    Craig will be leading the video editing workshop, and also be present at the other workshops to provide guidance, tips and insight in shooting, lighting, sound and content.

  • Alicia Lewis – Cooking Tutor

    Alicia LewisAlicia is a cooking tutor for the Children’s Food Trust, teaching cooking, food theory and health and safety. She’s also a registered nutritionist.

    Alicia’s love of cooking healthily is demonstrated in her blog, Kitchen Takeovers, which is full of easy to follow recipes. She’ll also blog about the workshops, keeping you up to date with how the ingredients will transform from online basket to video.

    When Alicia’s not covered in flour or butter, she’s tending to her two cats or jetting off to the States.

    Alicia will supervise during the cooking sessions, to make sure your recipes are cooked to perfection, with no burnt fingers in sight.
